On Saturday 15 June the tennis section will be holding a tennis festival aiming to raise funds to improve the club’s tennis facilities. The all-weather courts will soon need resurfacing and this is the first project we hope to support with the monies raised.

Tennis will be played from 8am to 8pm, starting with a cardio warm-up and then junior games and coaching sessions all morning to which a friend or member of the family is invited to join in, costing £5 per person and includes coffee, hot chocolate and a pastry from our local patisserie, Croissant d'Or. Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy this with the newspapers too.

Dunlop representatives will have sample racquets and trainers to try from 1-2pm and this will be followed by an American tournament for adults and junior team players - 2-5pm, entry fee £5. Please contact Sally if you wish to enter this, there will be fabulous prizes for the winners of each section. Our Pimm’s and strawberries gazebo will be available to visit throughout the course of the afternoon and evening.

The BBQ will be lit and ready to eat after this tournament and following on after is to be forfeits tennis which is fun for all the family, including tipsy tennis and fun fee forfeits.

Throughout the day PC sports-personalised Rawdon T-shirts and hoodies will be available to purchase and also tennis-related Wilson goods.

Finally, we have launched our RAFFLE today with some amazing prizes. These include a fabulous hamper, a tennis coaching lesson from Jonathan Sowden, a golf lesson from Andy Watmuff, Dunlop voucher towards a tennis racquet, 4 ball golf and 4 visitors grass court tennis vouchers for play at Rawdon and a junior tennis membership voucher for 2020.
